“The Passage was triggered by the discovery of a fallen larch suspended across a gully. I removed all the branches… built a cabin for the root plate… an upright beam to secure the tensioned tip… put a view hole in the cabin – a sight line across the valley. I worked with the idea of the flux of life and death within nature.”

When we first came across The Passage, we noted the hut and the beam. It wasn’t until several months later that we connected those with the ‘sight line’ across that valley..
